How to use the Battery Charge Calculator
Enter your batteries mAh capacity under "Input Battery Capacity(mAh)" for example if you have a 1200mAh battery enter 1200, then under "Input Current(mA)"enter your battery chargers charge rate (usually shown on the charger in Ah) click on Calculate. The maximum battery charge time for any given chargable battery will be displayed under "Results" based on the information entered.
The accepted standard for efficiency loss is 20%. Although 30% and 40% are far more likely, 10% and no loss are virtually unheard of so take this in to account when charging your batteries, You may need to slightly adjust charging time dependant on how the battery performs in use. If after charging a battery for the recommended time you experience short use time its is possible efficency loss is above 40% and you need to attempt to find the reason by changing the charger or replacing the battery.
NOTE: The Battery Charge Calculator is offered as a general guideline for NiMH and NiCad batteries and is intended for informational purposes only.
