Many Airsoft weapons are available in full metal versions, which are virtually the exact same size and weight as the original weapons they replicate.
Most Airsoft primary weapons are battery operated using special rechargeable Nickle Metal Hydride battery packs, these packs can be charged several hundred times and due to the nature of the battery type time consuming discharging or battery conditioning is not required.

Secondary weapons typically have an effective range of 25yards for stock weapons to 70+ yards for upgraded weapons.
